Tea Time: Tea Blending and Matcha Class + Sampling
Join the PCA for a fun and informative event that will be part demo, part tasting, and part hands-on class! Teri Gelber, owner of the T Project, will provide insight on various teas, tea drinking, and the differences between major market teas and small-batch teas like hers. She will also share how and why she does her tea blending in her own kitchen right in NW. Always wanted to know what goes into making a tea blend? Now’s your chance! For the hands-on portion, you’ll get a variety of teas for you to choice from to create your very own blend. By contrast, you will also sample a very rare single origin tea that is not blended or altered, so you can taste and discuss the differences. Along with sampling the delicious Mizuba matcha and seeing a traditional preparation, you will learn all about what matcha is, its history, why you should know about it, and present day iterations from Mizuba’s owner Lauren Danson. This event will include several tea tastings, both sweet and savory snacks, and the demo.
